Agricultural & Horticultural Uses

KBL 1.7 in use on spinach debris |
Residues of products in fresh produce will be illegal after
December 2003. As a result growers are facing greatly increased
financial pressure from crop losses due to the increases in
the prevalence of diseases such as sclerotinia, mildew and
rhizoctonia.
ADAS and DEFRA are advising meticulous care in crop management
techniques such as hygiene, clean glasshouses and clean soil.
|
Disease breeds on dead and decaying plant material, which, if not
destroyed will surely spread from one crop to the next. By using
a burner the debris is disintegrated and also any fungal or disease
spores which are resting on the surface are destroyed. This then
leaves a sterile seed bed which minimizes the disease pressure on
the following crop.
The Thermoweed Process can be applied to the following applications:
Organic
Weed Control, Glasshouses,
Herbs
& Salads, Potatoes
and Orchards. |
